Sêv-yanê Bî (/oˈhɘvɪ/ /ˈjanɘ/ [confident] [clerk; accountant]) is a subtropical Town located in the Pibíêtbësè Zone of the Union of Engineers.
The name Sêv-yanê Bî is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Sêv-yanê Bî was founded by Theggvong Fyeshë, who was culturaly Iron Elven.
Climate
Sêv-yanê Bî has a yearly average temperature of 24°C (75°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 27°C (80°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 22°C (71°F). Sêv-yanê Bî receives an average of 164 cm/y (64 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Sêv-yanê Bî covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 3364 m (11036 ft) above sea level.
Overview
Sêv-yanê Bî was founded durring the late 14th century in winter of the year 1286, by Theggvong Fyeshë. The establishment of Sêv-yanê Bî was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Sêv-yanê Bî's construction back out of the project. Theggvong Fyeshë pushed on reguardles, and Sêv-yanê Bî was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.
Sêv-yanê Bî was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the late 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Sêv-yanê Bî is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature masoned stone construction which prominantly features pointed arches, pointed ribbed vault cielings, flying buttress', and window tracery all of which share a simmilar gemoetetic patern halfway between organic and inorganic in design formaing a very distinct aesthetically integrated style. BUildings tend to reach for the havens, and more expencive homes are easily identified by their floor count as well as the addition of decorative features intigrated into the building's design such as statues, gargoyals, and embelished joinery.
Sêv-yanê Bî is buildings are speckled and packed arround spacious cobblestone streets with seemingly no patern to them. It appears as if the town's residents simply built streets as they pleased and squeazed buildings in wherever and howeave rpossible, creating an organic, frustrating to navigate, maze of a town. The town is protected by a renforced stone fence which sits atop earthwork defences, for some of the best inexpencive defences a town of Sêv-yanê Bî's size could have. Sêv-yanê Bî's well-designed, yet cheep has sufferd soem light damage, reducing its function a little in some spots, but could almsot certainly preform as expected... Though some of the worse spots could lead to the loss of defenders lives if attackers identified the weaknesses ahead of time.
Sêv-yanê Bî has the unmistakable air of a town on its last legs. Everything is a bit slipshod and ramshackle. Everyone is at work, or drinking. No one has anything in their eyes other than fear and despair. Sêv-yanê Bî ’s existence was once fed by scholarly pursuits. But the income once drawn in by the works of scribes and academics has dried up and the town is drifting down the stream of history as it dries up. Everywhere about the town one can see abandoned schools, libraries, and other academic structures. Locals can be overheard having academic discussions, as well as talking about scholarly subjects in general. It’s quite clear the town places a lot of value on education and being a learned individual. Even in these times.
Civic Infrastructure
Sêv-yanê Bî possesses a city-wide Aethary Link which provides Aethary access anywhere within its metropolitan. This allows citizens who can afford the relevant devices access in their places of work, and rarely homes.
Sêv-yanê Bî has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Sêv-yanê Bî.
Sêv-yanê Bî has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.
Sêv-yanê Bî has a Department of Firefighters, which is responsible for organizing fire fighting efforts during a fire and enforcing local ordinances relating to fire safety.
Sêv-yanê Bî has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.
Sêv-yanê Bî has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Sêv-yanê Bî's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.
Sêv-yanê Bî has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.
Sêv-yanê Bî has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.
Cultural Notes
Sêv-yanê Bî's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by towering round arches, massive stone and brickwork, small windows, thick walls, and a propensity for housing art and sculpture depicting mythological scenes. The building's general shape would be a clever and ascetic combination of geometric shapes, which would be blended together by joining elements. The style's decorative features were largely internal rather than external and incorporated semicircular arches for windows, doors, and arcades; barrel or groin vaults to support the roof of the nave; massive piers and walls, with few windows, to contain the outward thrust of the vaults; side aisles with galleries above them..
Due to the actions of local Kami, autumn is long in Sêv-yanê Bî.
The Faerie Mount near Sêv-yanê Bî are known to be almost tame, such that they can be put to domestic use.
Sêv-yanê Bî's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves drinking to channel Summoning energies of tier 3 via proclamations.
Economy
